Description

a drawing with ink and coffee. The reference that I have used, is a real monkey in zoo, to draw it was something difficult because he was not quiet.
The brand of coffee, I do not know it, because after drawing the monkey, went to a bar to take something and requested a black coffee to be able to paint it, hoped that a little cooled off the coffee and I used it to color.

Excellent - I like the movement and freedom of the strokes.
You've captured his expression and character really well - and I love his pot-belly.
I'm guessing you've got your monkey anatomy right but compositionally the leading arm feels kind of 'blocky' I want the wrist to finish about 2/3rds down.
Like I say though I assume that would be anatomically wrong.
Using the coffee as a colouring is a perfect compliment to the drawing style.
Great piece.

Really nice rendering style. Love the expresson on the face, and your use of light and dark is quiet nice. I have a real issue with the arm however, and i really think it breaks the image. Top half is stunning, bottom half leaves a bit to be desired. But yeah, i'm diggin the face. 5/9 (that arm really kills it for me)

Concept:

Strong

Technical Skill:

Strong

Impact/impression:

Very strong
Pros:
balance of space, tones, textures, and expression
Cons:
none at the moment
Overall opinion/feedback:
I really enjoy when an artist lets us in on the process - in this case the bit about getting coffee to paint with. It gives the piece a little bit more character.
